Kefraya Comte de M – 2003

I was flying back from Dubai, and I had a bottle of Kefraya Comte de M that I had been saving for years for a special occasion, and I was bringing it as a present for a very good business contact of mine. It was the 2003 bottle, quite the good year, and quite the expensive bottle, a collector’s item!

For some reason, I decided not to check my luggage in thinking that I’d go faster through the airport on arrival that way. I honestly dont know what I was thinking: because of the “no liquids on board” rule, the security in Dubai found the bottle in my suitcase, took it out, and simply dumped it in the trash before my very eyes! No amount of protesting helped, and I almost got thrown in jail when I suggested that they drink the bottle rather than throw it in the trash! (“you’re suggesting that we, police, drink khamra!!!??”).
